Jessamine County’s 2016 holiday season is full of fun and family-friendly events, starting with a Circle of Giving Wreath Display that allows visitors to help those in need when they bid on beautiful hand crafted holiday decorations. The wreaths decorate the Courthouse halls and can be viewed until December 2, when the silent auction ends.
Also on December 2 (beginning at 6 PM) is the Jessamine County Tree Lighting Ceremony –a festive event that is held on the Courthouse lawn and offers live music, complimentary hot chocolate, visits with Santa, photos with Santa and more. The Annual St. “Nich” Fest on Saturday, Dec. 10 kicks the season into an even higher gear with a full day of fun. In addition to the St. “Nich” Festival Christmas Parade on Main Street in historic downtown Nicholasville, visitors will enjoy shopping at local businesses and eateries, a 5‐K run, music, dance, and craft show. During the event, an old fashioned trolley will carry festival goers to destination stops in historic downtown Nicholasville. The holiday fun continues as the City of Wilmore celebrates the season during their Old Fashioned Christmas event on Saturday, December 3. This all day, community-wide event begins with a Lions Club Breakfast (at Providence School) and includes tours of Wilmore’s antique train caboose, strolls along Wilmore’s Downtown Green Memorial Angel Walk, four holiday craft markets, and more.
