Jessamine County Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec 1 at 6 PM—Local children will herald in the season with Christmas carols during this annual event as Judge David K. West and the Jessamine County Fiscal Court (JCFC) invite kids young and old to join them on the Courthouse lawn for free photos and visit with Santa, complimentary refreshments, and more at the Jessamine County Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Also featured: The Christmas Story” presented by the Jessamine County Ministerial Association and a Christmas Reading provided by the Jessamine County Public Library. Wilmore’s Old Fashion’ Christmas on Saturday, December 2—Wilmore invites everyone to get in the “Old Fashion” Christmas spirit and celebrate the holidays with an all day, community wide event. Visitors may choose from activities including a Lions Club Pancake Breakfast and model train display at Wesley Village, a Homemade Christmas Craft Fair at Asbury Seminary Gym, Christmas Holiday Market at Mt. Freedom Baptist Church, and Holiday Vendor Craft Fair at Wilmore Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, and tours of Wilmore’s antique train caboose. “A Christmas Gala” ballet performances will also be offered at McKenna Chapel on the Asbury Theological Seminary Campus and Angel Memorial Walk and Downtown Merchants Open Houses will be available throughout the day.
Evening activities include an AdventureServe Ministries Fundraiser Dinner, Wilmore Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Wilmore United Methodist Church parking lot on Main, Christmas Family Fun Night at Wesley Village, and a Grand Finale with performances by the All-Town Choir and Salvation Army Student Fellowship at Wilmore United Methodist Church. Annual St. “Nich” Fest on Saturday, December 9—Nicholasville’s Fourth Annual St. “Nich” Fest offers a full day of family-friendly activities including shopping, food trucks, and music. Festivities will include a St. “Nich” Festival Christmas Parade on Main Street in historic downtown Nicholasville, a Nicholasville/Jessamine County Parks & Recreation “Ugly Christmas Sweater” 5-K Run, Elf Costume Contest, photos with Santa and your pets, movies and more. During the event, an old fashioned trolley will carry festival goers to destination stops in historic downtown Nicholasville.
