Exciting news! The Barbasol Championship is moving to Kentucky in 2018, marking the first PGA Tour event in the Bluegrass State since 1959. The tournament will be held at Champions Course at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville July 19-22. It will continue to offer a $3.5 million purse with $630,000 to the winner. Farmers Markets: Nicholasville and Wilmore
[April through October]

Nicholasville’s Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from late April through October in downtown Nicholasville. Wilmore’s Farmers Market is available in downtown Wilmore on Saturday mornings from May– September.

Both offer fresh, locally grown vegetables and fruits along with other unique specialty items and foods.

Coaster Car Derby [April]

Children and youth are invited to race down Wilmore’s East Main Street in the Coaster Car Derby held each April. Two divisions are available: home built cars and kit cars. Participants, ages 7 and up.

Tour the Railroad Caboose Museum
[May through October]

Visit historic downtown Wilmore and tour a 1950’s era Southern railway bayside caboose. View an extensive collection of railroad and local history artifacts, exhibits, photos and literature which tell the story of the Wilmore-High Bridge area . Open on most Saturdays from April through October, 10 a.m. to noon. Free admission. Sponsored by the Wilmore Community Development Board.

Camp Nelson Civil War Days
[2nd weekend in September]

Annual Camp Nelson Civil War Days Living History Event on the grounds of the best-preserved Union Army supply depot and African American recruitment site in the nation — the 525-acre Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park. Military re-enactors perform infantry and artillery demonstrations with cannon firing throughout both days. First-person interpretations of soldiers and civilians, presentations, tours, period music, archaeological dig and more.
